What is a Vertical Foam Cutting Machine?

A vertical foam cutting machine is used for trimming and cutting huge chunks of foam blocks into small forms or slices. Flexible polyurethane foam is a material widely used in applications like home furnishings, cooling appliances, and electronics. An increase in its applications has resulted in its mass production for which upgraded machinery is required with the latest technologies. This PU foam machine provides a cutting accuracy of +/-2 mm and is available in different models – basic, standard, and automatic.

Applications of Polyurethane Foam

As discussed earlier, polyurethane foam is usually used in home furnishings, such as bedding, furniture, and carpet underlayment. Big Vertical Foam Cutting Machine (V5 Model)

The V5 model, a big vertical cutting machine, is designed to provide a reliable means of trimming and cutting the sides of a flexible polyurethane foam block. It weighs around 1600 kg and requires 3.25 hp of power to run to split bigger blocks into small, desired sizes. The cutting accuracy of this cutting machine is +/-2 mm, yielding 1550 mm long and 2200 mm wide blocks for both large-scale and small-scale production. This PU foam machine requires a 5.5 x 5.5 metres spare with an 1825 mm inside and outside table. Easy to install, the V5 model requires various types of equipment depending on the requirements of the end product. Standard equipment required includes:

  • Adjustable rest plate
  • Electric blade drive motor
  • Manual break for the table to enable fast stopping
  • Aluminium table top to ensure free movement of polyurethane foam blocks
  • A strong table frame on the bearing slides for easy operation
  • Slitting section for balanced blade-wheels
  • Motorised grinding attachment with adjustable cup stones
  • Lower and upper band knife guidance

The automatic PU foam machine is the automatic version of the V5 model and uses an AV power supply of 415 V.
